Genesis 4:6-7

6 Then the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”

Martin Followed Jesus

Once when asked about the many death threats on his life. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “If I have to die to help my sick white brothers and sisters, so be it.”

Jesus said, “There is no greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

Thank you Martin, your dream is still alive.

Stilling the Wondering Heart

Wondering mind, heart, and or tongue?

There is no better cure than silent meditation.

Go before the Father and choose not to speak, hold your thoughts in check, don’t expect Him to speak just silence yourself.     When you are done a sense of peace and holy stillness will run deep in your soul. Able to bridle the tongue, shrug off any disruptions, and keep thoughts captive.

Silent meditation… an incredibly valuable discipline. Experiment with it, it works.

Psalm 18:6-19

dark-cloudBut in my distress I cried out to the Lord;
      yes, I prayed to my God for help.
   He heard me from his sanctuary;
      my cry to him reached his ears.

 Then the earth quaked and trembled.
      The foundations of the mountains shook;
      they quaked because of his anger.
 Smoke poured from his nostrils;
      fierce flames leaped from his mouth.
      Glowing coals blazed forth from him.
 He opened the heavens and came down;
      dark storm clouds were beneath his feet.
 Mounted on a mighty angelic being, he flew,
      soaring on the wings of the wind.
 He shrouded himself in darkness,
      veiling his approach with dark rain clouds.
 Thick clouds shielded the brightness around him
      and rained down hail and burning coals.
 The Lord thundered from heaven;
      the voice of the Most High resounded
      amid the hail and burning coals.
 He shot his arrows and scattered his enemies;
      his lightning flashed, and they were greatly confused.
 Then at your command, O Lord,
      at the blast of your breath,
   the bottom of the sea could be seen,
      and the foundations of the earth were laid bare.

 He reached down from heaven and rescued me;
      he drew me out of deep waters.
 He rescued me from my powerful enemies,
      from those who hated me and were too strong for me.
 They attacked me at a moment when I was in distress,
      but the Lord supported me.
 He led me to a place of safety;
      he rescued me because he delights in me.

In God’s Kiln

kiln2

The reason why porcelain pottery is incredibly expensive is that more than half of the pieces that are formed break in the firing kiln.

I am begining to think that pastors and church leaders are somewhat simular. The fire gets hot and you just hope that you won’t break.

It’s Time to Quit Being Friendly and Be Family

Reflections on Ephesians 4

There is a group of people on earth that have the spirit of God in them. They love like Him and speak like Him. They even act like Him.

Jesus Christ died so that they could exist. 132_32171

He has given the characteristics of Himself to dwell in His people permanently. The presence of Him is in our brothers. We can know Him by knowing our brothers and sisters.

Your colleague at work who is a Christian, she is your sister, your eternal sibling who you are responsible for protecting and honoring.

Brothers and Sisters, Mothers and Fathers in the Lord are the most precious gift, next to Christ, that man has.

It’s time we quit taking Jesus’ bride for granted. It’s time we quit being friendly and be family.

Value the Church, cherish the body of Christ, dwell with them, uphold them, protect them, do not forsake them. Surely the more we learn to value the body the more abundantly our Father will dwell in us.
