Flooding the Thrown Room

A few years ago a prophetess visited our church from Italy. She said that she had a word from the Lord that “we had lifted up many prayers to God.”

Until recently I was not encouraged by this word. I thought it was kind of vain. But recently I realized that if God alter-of-insense2knew how much we asked of Him that this must be an honorable thing.

To ask of God is to need God. I want to need God. I want God to be needed.

Thinking about what James says lately also has encouraged me. James says by the Holy Spirit that, “You do not have because you do not ask God.(James 4:2)” So now I realize since my prayers are being heard I will flood the throne of Heaven beseeching God for all that He might desire. I do not want one stone to be left upturned if by my faith God can change this world.

So Lord help me hear you so I agree with you. By the Blood of Jesus.

The Words that Brought Reformation

“The Righteous Shall Live By Faith.” Romans 1:17

Luther stumbled upon these words and it changed the world.

Very much like King Josiah rediscovering the law(2Kings 22:8-13).

What will be rediscovered that will bring another wave of change?

Submersive Prayer

For what purpose has God called me?

Have you pondered the question?

He has imputed His righteousness so that we might be able to approach the Father’s holiness. Have you taken advantage?

Prayer. A commonly used word that is often missunderstood for sheer over use of it. I would like to redefine it today in the context of your life.

prayer-girlPrayer- a gateway into the passion filled heaven-bound kingdom of the presence of God.

The false definition is that prayer is a destination that one can go to and leave. No, prayer is a door to interacting with the presence of God. It is nothing to be good at like a sport.

Prayer  is a way of life… in fact it is the ideal way of life.

Prayer is where we receive guidance in our lives. It is where we collapse in the presence of Our Father so that He can relieve us of the burdens that we carry. But despite the temptation, prayer does not stop there. There is more, there is purpose, there is fulfillment yet to be had.

We hear the instruction there and receive relief from our burdens- to live out the instruction we have been given.

The 15 minutes or 2 hours that you spend in the prayer place propels us to  fulfill the lives He has created us for. The way to be prayerful through those days is to be obedient to His instructions.

As we dunk our whole lives in prayer we find ourselves in the midst of many activities and responsibilities that have the potential to overwhelm us. This is a sign of the greatness that we can accomplish through Christ. This is not the place to worry or fear, but to rejoice in the accomplishment of living prayerful.

When living submerged in the council of God you can bet you will be places that you would never imagine. But,  if you think really hard you will discover that this is actually good for you and fulfilling. The stress that you endure is worthwhile stress because it is God who has led you their.

Who are you living to please? Is it yourself? Is it your spouse? Your boss?

Why not live to please God?

He is not far off or distant in any way.

He is present in such a way that He will make His will know to you if you ask. He doesn’t ask of you more that you are able to give. But what you do give He will honor and make it worth your while.

So today, May the sacrifice of a willing heart be the only sacrifice you see God needs. May your token offerings be kept to yourself and may the depths of your heart begin to be opened up to the one who made it.

In Flesh and Blood: Resisting the Culture

After on a couple of the buisiest months of my life have past, I am now returning to lay out some more thoughts. The blog’s name is true to life this is about my contemplative life; and contemplation requires time away from the hustle and bustle of life to think. I don’t try to think of things to share here as if I were living for you I write out of the overflow of my heart things that I feel like you could benifit from. So sorry for being away and hope to make up for it as I have learned a great lesson in over extention in the last few weeks.

How easy is it to live life with blinders on? We go about our business and do our thing as if no one else exist. We have learned this from the culture. The culture is self centered, self absorbed, and self conscience. It’s a fact.

Our most recent craze is Facebook, an amazing communication tool that enables us to hide behind a computer and share our edited lives with others. I’m an addict,(in hopes of rehabilitation), so I speak from a good perspective. But the more I indulge the more I notice that there is a temptation to replace real life flesh and bloodself_deception friendships.

Real friendship happens when people are present. When food is eaten and mistakes are made. What will our lives look like if we can continue to hide behind computers, phones, camera, and nice clothes.

I think what will happen is we will lose track of who we are. How can we express our real feelings when we hide in a bubble of presentation.

This is where we need to reexamine the new testament scriptures and old testament prophecies. The old testament prophesied about a God who would be with us “Hosanna.” Jesus exemplified this notion by truly coming among us in the flesh and living life with us. He ate, drank, slept, and died with us. Where have we gone wrong.

Over the last few years the meaning of community has changed for me as my wife and I have been living with another family. There is nothing more sacred than having Christian community every waking moment. It’s trying to be truthful but it is a primal part of life.

True sacrificial flesh and blood friendships, where hands get dirty and shoulders get cried on, are one of the most enjoyable benefits of life.

This is what Christ gave us. He gave us the ability to be reconciled to God and to man. He has given us the tools to forgive others even when they are wrong. He has given us what we call the Church.

So why have we reduced our gift of community to text messages and updated Facebook status’?

Maybe we are not living in the fullness of God’s gift.

Maybe we are just fine living out our faith in our own controlled environments.

Amos wrote in the 6th chapter of the book named after him that…

4.You lie on beds inlaid with ivory
       and lounge on your couches.
       You dine on choice lambs
       and fattened calves.

5 You strum away on your harps like David
       and improvise on musical instruments.

6 You drink wine by the bowlful
       and use the finest lotions,
but you do not grieve over the ruin of Joseph.

    7 Therefore you will be among the first to go into exile;
your feasting and lounging will end.

The truth is that there are those around you who need your help. The truth is that they will not be able to make it without you.

The truth is you need to stop presenting yourself to others and present your self to God and ask for clarlity.

Be yourself-your beautiful, stop being reclusive it’s not healthy. Set a date, get together with a friend, talk about real life and watch how God shows up to minister in flesh and blood.
