Choosing the Path Made for Us

Armenians need to quit trying to make their own decisions, Calvinists need to quit waiting on it to happen.

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them and they follow Me.” John 10:27

Following Jesus is a hard thing to begin to do. But when you experience His insightful guidance you might begin to believe Calvin, that this is all a part of a bigger plan that was predestined. And then as you wake up and choose to follow Him another day you realize that your following is your decision, like Arminius would agree with.

good_shepherd1Soon you are more in tune with His voice and you start seeing less of what is politically right and what is left. But you just know the Good Shepherd’s voice that has led you through thus far.

You hear Him and obey, not because it is mandatory but because He has won your heart. You choose to follow with utter abandon to everything else. As you experience Him in the scripture you gain insight that keeps you on a sturdy path.

You realize that the group of “called out” people you are with are unconquerable because of the hand of God that has built them up. You look at your life and recognize that as you have trusted Him you have been given innocence and freedom. You see the thick spider web-like lies that loved ones are in and you help usher them out with authority and grace. You are an ambassador for the Mighty King who protects you and who works all things for your good.

It’s an adventure… but not like those on TV, this one does not involve your glory. This involves you getting joy as a result of your service to Jesus Christ, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Stop! It sounds too good to be true. This adventure is for those who listen for His voice and follow. Chances are that you have heard His voice and now are either obeying or disobeying. No matter where you are, He is patient and merciful. He does not leave His flock but stays close by. Listen hard…. let your racing mind settle in the silence and listen… then follow.

As often as possible put yourself in the position to hear His instruction. You’ll find that it’s a pleasure to go to the scripture and to the prayer closet to listen to our Shepherd.

Don’t worry He sees all of the dangers around and He sees the path that will lead to rest… choose to trust Him. ~

“Whether you turn to the right or the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.'”
