Johnny Cash’s last project was this cover of a Nine Inch Nails song that had originated by a clearly depressed and confused kid in his twenties, Trent Reznor. Johnny’s wife died a year after this project and he die just a few months after that.
I love the redemptive quality to the song as well as the very real lyrics that somehow reaches the depth of the vanity of this life and the real work God does in us that should be our singular focus. I encourage you to listen and let the various components of the track cause you to pray.
