The culture we live in creates hermits. It takes perfectly good folks, chews them up and spits them out. We have access to many different forms of interests that emphasize our individualism and uniqueness, while pushing us farther and farther away from each other. Certain clothing, music, traditions, theological views, political views and the like gets painted on ourselves distinguishing ourselves from the others. We have social technology that encourages superficial connectedness and pretentiousness.
We are all becoming the children under the stairs. The uniquely handicapped children that the family is ashamed of. Hidden away from the love and kindness of the family. We are all quarantined in surface level happiness at best, swayed only by addictions and habitual tendencies.
Jesus prayed that we would be one. He made the way for us to know the vileness of our own hearts and the world, in hopes that we would find our home in Him and in each other.
Being baptized into the community of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is the only plan for fulfillment God has given us. It’s in the midst of Him and His people where the 2 greatest commandments become one concept. It’s where the Kingdom of God becomes reality. It’s where contention get resolved as quickly as it was created.
Oh God, we long for an experience of your Kingdom on earth. We long to know you in your community. For this is our only hope for preservation from this vile place. May we not find comfort in any other cosmos than yours. Your Kingdom come, in us as individuals and well as your Church.
