10The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
11Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. ~ Revelation 4:10-11 KJV
When it’s all said and the done the 24 who are seated on thrones with God cast their crowns to the ground giving back to God the thing that they had received.
On this side of the apocalypse we should look at this image as a symbol of how we are to live our lives. All that He gives us, we are given the opportunity to give it back. All that He makes us responsible for, we are given the opportunity to invite Him in. All that we could count as our own, we can choose to give it back knowing that what lies in His hands will accomplish much more than what we could do with it.
In essence, when we recognize God’s greatness and our weakness the choice is pretty easy. He, out of His kindness towards us, does not make us throw our _______ back at his feet. But, he is all too happy to pick up what we give Him and make something amazing out of it.
So I’m choosing to throw it all at His feet. It’s worked really well for me up this point, and it seems to be the only true reaction that will bare true fruit for His glory. As the scripture says above, “it’s for Your pleasure that they were and are created.”
Lord gain pleasure from this life and the various components of it that I throw at your feet.
