Moses looked over into the promised land, left wanting to see the fulfillment of all his labor. Joshua and the rest of the Israelites crossed the Jordan and propped up their beach chairs and drank martinis celebrating the wonderful fluffy feelings of God waged war on the land clearing the promised land of those whom had occupied it. They spent their days fighting God’s enemies with the battle tactics God had instructed.
So too we are in a war. The blood of the lamb has redeemed us from the power of sin and death; now we are fighting to maintain freedom and push back God’s enemies from His promised people and land.
It’s time to war and ready ourselves to live successfully with our adversary under our feet. Truly the word of God is true when it says that “He that is in us is greater than he that is in the world.”
