He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth;
with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.
5 Righteousness will be his belt
and faithfulness the sash around his waist.
6 The wolf will live with the lamb,
the leopard will lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling together;
and a little child will lead them.
7 The cow will feed with the bear,
their young will lie down together,
and the lion will eat straw like the ox.
8 Infants will play near the hole of the cobra;
young children will put their hands into the viper’s nest.
9 They will neither harm nor destroy
on all my holy mountain,
for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the LORD
as the waters cover the sea.
~Isaiah 11
Read this passage this morning about the deep peace that will one day saturate the earth. Even the animals will get along and not eat each other.
Made me think of how the Kingdom of God is breaking through right now, but it has not fully come. Over the past year or so, I have noticed that even at best we are far from being purely deeply purified from sin. There is still a lot yet to be redeemed.
This gives me hope as well as an awareness that I must make every effort to keep peace, I must fight for righteousness sake. Forgiving others who do me wrong, turning the other cheek on those who still wish me harm, tending to the fresh wound with fervor.
Yeah, the lamb will one day lie with the lion, unfortunately that dayis not today
