Let the brother who is low rejoice in his exaltation, and the rich in his becoming low, because as a flower of grass he shall pass away; for the sun did rise with the burning heat, and did wither the grass, and the flower of it fell, and the grace of its appearance did perish, so also the rich in his way shall fade away! Brother- Sister,
Who has confused you into believing that “getting rich” was an ambition that God has given you?! Where in the Bible does it say that you need to pull yourself up by your own boot straps? What have you mixed with the truth of the gospel that you’ve justified this horrid pursuit?
The Gospel of Jesus Christ includes your surrender unto a loving and kind, providing God. It’s living weak before Him in trusting unity. When did getting rich become a part of the Gospel that you call yourself a part of. Repent. give up that lie. Let those worries go. Live for God and everything else will be taken care of.
May you stop today and realize that your worry about finances is the vainest way to spend your energy. May you quit looking for a raise. May you quit looking to get better stuff. And most importantly, may you realize that the most valuable thing, Jesus, is waiting right next to you with eyes that are full of compassion desiring your whole heart.
